Black Family Day is held on the last Saturday in February. In 2024, Black Family Day will take place on Saturday, February 24.
The event runs from 11 AM to 4 PM.
Black Family Day is hosted at Parque de los Pobladores, located at 510 S 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113 (William and 1st, downtown San Jose).
Black Family Day is a family-friendly event with a wide range of activities for all ages. Over 40 vendors will offer diverse products, including books, African-themed jewelry, artwork, clothing, and more. Government agencies and community service organizations will provide resources and services. The main attraction is the vibrant live performances on the main stage, featuring highly talented solo and ensemble performers.
Admission to Black Family Day is free, as it is an outdoor event.

Parking is limited in this area, there is parking at First Street and I-280, Convention Center Parking Lot and street parking. (Note some parking lots have a daily flat fee). There is a designated passenger area for elders, people with mobility issues and families with small children.
This is a rain or shine event.
Registration will be onsite at the event. We are asking attendees to complete a Family Day Passport to get a food ticket (while supplies last).
African cuisine will be served for free for event for attendees who complete a Family Day Passport (While supplies last, see Do I have to Register?)
We will have limited seating; you are welcome to bring a chair.
