Black Family Day Silicon Valley, the pinnacle of African Ancestry Month, lights up the last Saturday in February every year at Parque de los Pobladores, San Jose. This free family festival celebrates heritage, health, and unity. 

The event runs from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Black Family Day is hosted at Parque de los Pobladores, located at 510 S 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113 (William and 1st, downtown San Jose).

Black Family Day is the culminating event of the African and African Ancestry Month in Silicon Valley and a tribute to the resilience and perseverance that define the Black experience.

Presented by Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet (BLKC) and produced by Silicon Valley African Film Festival, this free public event features over 60 vendors and exhibitors, spectacular performances, family activities, food, and more!

Come and celebrate Black Joy, music, representation, and the pure essence of Black excellence!

Admission to Black Family Day is free. There is no charge to attend, vend or exhibit.

Black Family Day is presented by the Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet of Silicon Valley and produced by the Silicon Valley African Film Festival. You can learn more about these organizations by clicking on their logos below.

Parking is limited in this area, there is parking at First Street and I-280, Convention Center Parking Lot and street parking. (Note some parking lots have a daily flat fee). There is a designated passenger area for elders, people with mobility issues and families with small children.

This is a rain or shine event.

Registration will be onsite at the event. We are asking attendees to complete a Family Day Passport to get a food ticket (while supplies last).

There will be FREE food for attendees who complete a Family Day Passport (while supplies last, see Do I have to Register?)

We will have limited seating; you are welcome to bring a chair.

We are always looking for talents for our main stage. Send an email to office@blackfamilydaysv.com and tell us more about your act, also send us a link to your work. We will be happy to book you this year if we have available slots, otherwise, we will add you to our roster of performers for next year.
